Excellent Value Wine

I discovered Penfold's Koonunga Hill 2006 Shiraz Cabernet blend about a year a go and I have been enjoying it ever since. This wine is an incredible value. Here in the Northwest, Costco is currently carrying the wine for $6.99 a bottle. You don't want to miss this. You get loads of blueberries and blackberries on the nose, and the palate is rewarded with ripe fruit, black currents, and black pepper. The alcohol seems to still be a little hot in this wine, but I am going to stash a few bottles away to enjoy in 5-10 years. This wine is excellent now and I am sure it will only get better with age.

Robert Parker gave it a 91. Need I say more.

Skip the bottle of Yellow Tale that you always buy and try something new. Try this wine and let me know what you think.

thanks for the tip--I'll tell Ben and then we can enjoy some when I'm not pregnant.

I finally had a chance to visit you and Paige's blogs. Very cute pictures of Pear. You definitely have a keeper there!

I also enjoyed your post on our little hike with the mosquitos.

Hope all is going well with the pregnancy. We'll all have to get together during the holidays if you're feeling up to it.

A side note. I just returned from San Francisco on business. Stayed at the Sheraton Palace. The economy is doing just fine. It was packed. Every resturaunt was also packed. What economic crisis. It may be time to invest.

Take Care,

Terry
