One of my resolutions for this new year is to read more. It is hard to quantify "more" so I thought to myself that I should read 100 books this year, but then I did the math and it works out to ~2 books every week. 100 books isn't feasible with my current load of obligations, so I settled on a more manageable number, 30.
I am going to read 30 books this year, and I am not limiting myself to one genre. Where do I start? Well I just started 3 books:
Biblical Eldership by Alexander Strauch
The Shaping of Things to Come by Michael Frost and Alan Hirsch
Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
My goal is to have at least 10 of the books be classics. I will let you know my progress.
All of this reading will be in addition to my standard reading everyday.
Everyday I selectively read articles, opinions, and editorials from the following publications:
The New York Times
The Wall Street Journal
The Washington Post
The Seattle Times
The Olympian
Internet Storm Center
Slashdot

I would also like to read more. I might try something like 10 books for the year. Isn't it nice to be able to read what you want rather than what the class requires?
Chase,
Yes, reading whatever one feels like is a satisfying freedom.

Stephen
Dear sir! I cannot express how happy I am to see a fellow lover of the written word, a mutual connoisseur of textual creativity, a friendly companion in the quest for dominance over the mass of knowledge and learning out there, but if I were to try and express it, it would sound something like this (pardon): read bitch, read!
