Rating: Essential Read

My reading is suffering due to Summer projects, but I am getting through a few books. Back in April, I finished an excellent, and when I say excellent I mean excellent, book on the history of oil. The title is The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power by Daniel Yergin.

This is a beast of a book, weighing in at 887 pages, but you will be flying through it in no time. The prize is masterfully written, and Yergin's detailed history reads like a novel. If you want to understand the current situation in the Middle East you have to read this book. If you want to understand WWII you have to read this book. If you want to understand the history of the world for the last 150 years you have to read this book.
