2006 Januik Columbia Valley Red Wine

Yes, I am still here. I haven't been doing much other than remolding our kitchen.

2006 Januik Columbia Valley Red Wine

Mike Januik is a freaking miracle worker. There is not a single wine of his that I haven't liked. My first exposure to Mike's work was his 2006 Januik Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Great wine. Then I tried his 2006 Novelty Hill Cabernet Sauvignon (Novelty is a separate label, but he is the wine maker). Wonderful. Then on Friday I had his Januik Red Wine. Absolutely delicious.

It is a blend of 43% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 11% Cabernet Franc 6% Petit Verdot, and finally 2% Malbec.

Tasting notes:

Explosive nose. Loads of dark fruits and spice both on the nose and palate. Smooth tannins and depth on the mid-palate with a lingering, satisfying finish. 14.2% alcohol. $13 USD. Highly recommended.
